Jeff Baillard, the Digit'alchemixst !

Born on french national day, 1960 in Paris, France, Jeff's passion for music begins at an early age.

During his studies at Paris VIII University of Music in the 80ies, he takes MPO (Computer Assisted Music) course and his passion for studio production of music (albums)… At the same period, he was already touring with Malian artist Sheik Tsidane Seik (Jamaica, Mali, Switzerland…) and recording sessions with franco-arabic singer Amina is Paris's biggest studios.

The year 2000 brought the release of Jeff's self-made debute album: X'TREM JAM "Trans bèlè". With it's fresh and unique sound, the group immediately triggered everyone's attention in the carribbean world. The following years brought more success for Jeff and his band: they went to Bourges, and back in Martinique won a SACEM research prize. Jeff delighted audiences with his outrageous electric guitars playing skills and his experimental sound.

Known as an electro-acoustic sound researcher, Jeff's music is an intense musical experience. He creates a subtle alchemy of traditional music and electronic sounds with an acoustic essence.
He loves to blend together rhythms coming from the musical universes of India, Africa and the Caribbean using today's technology.

Jeff likes to work with artist from other fields: dance, theater, visual arts... He created several original music for contemporary dance shows, theater plays, art installations and documentary generics.
